A rocket fired from Gaza has exploded in a field in southern Israel.
The Israeli army said the rocket had landed near the city of Ashkelon and had caused no injuries.
The firing of the rocket is a violation of the ceasefire agreed on January 18th between Israel and Hamas, which controls Gaza.
So far, three rockets have been fired into the Jewish state since the end of Israel's three week offensive against the militant group which resulted in the deaths of 1,300 Palestinians and 13 Israelis.
On Wednesday, Israel launched air strikes to dismantle tunnels on Gaza's southern border with Egypt after one of its soldiers was killed in an explosion while on patrol.
Israel launched the offensive in December to put an end to rockets being fired into its territory by restoring its deterrent power.
