The final round of European elections has begun with voters in 19 member states picking their representatives in the European parliament.
Voters in 27 states are heading to the polls to pick 736 representatives in what is being seen as key elections for some countries.
Britain voted on Thursday after the country was rocked by the expenses scandal, raising fears of far right parties being represented in Europe.
The Labour party suffered a crushing defeat in local county elections held alongside the European polls and analysts fear a similar rout in Brussels.
In Italy, voters are expected to voice their opinion on their scandal-hit prime minister, who has seen allegations of his links with younger women dominate the headlines.
While in Ireland, the vote is being seen as a key test of the country's thoughts about the European Union, after it prepares for a second referendum on the Lisbon treaty, which they rejected last year.
Voters in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden are heading to the polls today.
