A Russian train crash which has killed dozens of people was caused by a bomb blast, officials have said.
A terror investigation is being carried out after the train derailed travelling from Moscow to St Petersburg at 09:30 pm local time (18:30 GMT) yesterday, near the town of Bologoye.
A statement from investigators said "elements of an explosive device" had been found at the scene of the crash.
Rescue workers said 26 people are known to have died and a further 90 people are believed to have been injured in the crash, some seriously, when at least three carriages came off the tracks. Passengers spoke of a loud bang just before the derailment.
Russian railways said the train carried 661 passengers in 13 carriages. In 2007, a bomb on the same line derailed a train, injuring nearly 30 passengers.
Russia's prosecutor-general has opened a criminal case on terrorism charges, Russian news agencies say.
