Gordon Brown is to attend the United Nations climate summit in Copenhagen tomorrow in an attempt to kick-start the faltering talks.

Sources have claimed the prime minister will fly to Denmark on Tuesday afternoon, at least two days earlier than had been planned.

Negotiations between developed and developing nations with regard to agreeing new emissions targets are reported to have become increasingly strained in recent days, with reports some nations walked out of talks in the Danish capital earlier today.

Prince Charles is also due to attend the conference tomorrow where he will deliver an opening address.
