At least eight football fans have been killed after a section of a stadium collapsed in north-east Brazil.
Dozens of people were injured in the accident, which took place with ten minutes left to go in Bahia's third division match with Goias state rivals Vila Nova at the Fonte Nova stadium.
Fans had been celebrating in anticipation of their team's promotion to Brazil's second division.
Television pictures showed a wide hole in one of the stand's top tiers, with victims falling more than 130ft to ground level.
The match, which finished goalless, was completed with the majority of the stadium's 60,000 supporters oblivious to the accident.
Salvador, where the Fonte Nova stadium is situated, is one of the cities earmarked to host matches during the 2014 World Cup, which was recently awarded to Brazil.
But the stadium, which was built in 1951 and recently criticised for its dilapidated state, is expected to be rebuilt if the city is chosen as a World Cup venue.
Goias state governor Jacques Wagner has already ordered that the stadium be closed until the accident is investigated.
