Police in Antigua are believed to be questioning a drifter after the shooting of a British couple spending their honeymoon on the island.
Benjamin Mullany, 31, is in hospital after being shot in the neck during a botched robbery on Sunday morning, while his new wife Catherine Mullany, formerly Bowen, died after also being shot in the incident on the Caribbean island.
And officers are believed to have been tipped off about a man, who reportedly befriended the couple during their stay.
"An individual who had befriended them on the beach drove them round the island," an unnamed source is quoted as saying.
"The couple had rented a car and driven round the island with him."
No comment has as yet been made by local police.
The news occurred as it emerged that Mr Mullany is to be flown home to Wales.
Police said the 31-year-old physiotherapist is to be transferred from the Holperton hospital in the Antiguan capital of St John's once an air ambulance became available as his family believe doctors will have a better chance of saving his life in the UK.
Mr Mullany and his wife, both from south Wales, were on the last day of their honeymoon when the incident occurred at the Cocos Hotel near Valley Church on Sunday.
