Two separate suicide attacks in Iraq have killed up to 30 people and wounded dozens.
In Baiji, more than 150 miles north of Baghdad, at least 25 people died when a bomber drove his vehicle into a gas cylinder truck.
More than 80 people were also wounded in the blast, which left a massive crater in front of a residential area for employees at a state-run oil company.
Shortly after the attack, Baiji's chief police officer Saad Nufous was dismissed by the government.
"There was a decision by the interior ministry to fire the Baiji police chief," an interior ministry spokesman said.
In a separate attack in Baquba, north-east of the capital, a bomber struck during the funeral of a father and son killed fighting US troops.
At least four people died in the explosion, with a further 20 wounded.
Both attacks appear to have targeted groups that previously supported the al-Qaida-led insurgency.
Elsewhere in Iraq, the US military says it has killed 13 militants and detained 27 in operations across the Middle East state.
