A British national has been kidnapped by gunmen in southern Nigeria, reports say.
"A Briton... was kidnapped last night at [20:00 BST]," Lieutenant-Colonel Musa Sagir told the AFP news agency this morning.
A spokeswoman for the Foreign Office said that they were investigating the reports but there was "no news at the moment".
"Various colleagues are looking into this, there are no details at the moment but we are investigating the matter," she added.
Reports claim the unidentified gunmen kidnapped the Briton overnight in Port Harcourt.
