Barack Obama has been criticised over comments he made regarding Jerusalem
Libya's leader has criticised US Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama over comments he made regarding Jerusalem remaining the capital of
Israel.
Colonel Muammar Gaddafi accused Mr Obama of either being ignorant of the ongoing
Middle East conflict or not telling the truth in a bid to boost his campaign to become the next president of the US.
Referring to the Democrat as "our Kenyan brother", Mr Gaddafi said: "He either ignores international politics and did not study the Middle East conflict or that it is a campaign lie".
"We fear that Obama will feel that, because he is black and with an inferiority complex, this will make him behave worse than the whites.
"This is a tragedy. We tell him to be proud of himself as a black and feel that all
Africa is behind him."
Mr Obama recently secured the Democrat candidacy to take on Republican John McCain in the presidential election in November, after rival Hillary Clinton pulled out of the race.
Mr Gaddafi made the comments today during a speech to mark the 38th anniversary since the US excavcuated an air force base in Tripoli.
He came to power in a coup in 1969 shortly after the US left Libya.
