Fourth suspect in Meredith Kercher murder investigation extradited to Italy
A man suspected of involvement in the murder of Meredith Kercher has been extradited to Italy from Germany, prosecutors have said.
Ivorian-born Rudy Hermann Guede, 20, flew into Rome at about 12:50 local time (11:50 GMT) today before being taken by police to Perugia.
Ms Kercher, 21, a UK student from Coulsdon, Surrey, was killed in her Perugia flat on November 1st.
Her partially-clothed body was discovered the following day, with police saying her throat had been cut and that she had been subject to a violent sexual attack.
Mr Guede, who was arrested in Germany two weeks ago after travelling without a train ticket, denies killing Ms Kercher.
In light of forensic evidence placing him at her flat on the night of the murder he has admitted kissing Ms Kercher but insists he saw another man flee after apparently killing her.
Italian prosecutors have suggested that more than one person killed Ms Kercher, and that her killers knew her well.
A judge has already ruled that the student's flatmate, American Amanda Knox, 20, and her boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 23, can be held without charge for another year.
Congolese-born barman Patrick Diya Lumumba, 38, has been released from custody but has not been cleared.
All three also deny any involvement in Ms Kercher's death.
