A female suicide bomber has killed at least 32 people and injured some 50 more in the southern Iraqi city of Kerbala, reports claim.
The suicide attack took place at a cafe near Shia Muslim shrines this afternoon.
Local reports claim police vehicles and ambulances were carrying people away from the scene to nearby hospitals.
The bomb was detonated near the revered Iman Hussein shrine, according to Alaa Hamud Dadair, head of Kerbala's health doctorate.
The city's chief health officer, Karim Khazim, told the AP news agency that the victims included seven
Iranians.
Kerbala, 60 miles south-west of the capital Baghdad, has been the scene of deadly bomb blasts in the past.
Last April, around 100 people were killed in two suicide blasts.
