The outskirts of the heavily-fortified Green Zone in Baghdad has been struck by two explosions, eyewitnesses have said.
Up to five people have been wounded in the blasts, which saw an Iraqi army armoured car blown up and a car bomb detonated.
The explosions coincided with a visit to the Iraqi capital by US deputy secretary of state John Negroponte.
Mr Negroponte had been due to address reporters when the explosions were heard.
The Green Zone is home to the majority of Iraqi government buildings and diplomatic missions, including the US embassy.
