John McCain has rounded off a week of political attacks upon US presidential rival Barack Obama in a new video mocking the Democrat as "The One".
The video, which the McCain campaign sent to supporters and posted on YouTube, paints Mr Obama as a quasi-religious figure anointed to save the world from all its ills.
"Can you see the light?" the video asks, before adding: "It shall be known, that in 2008, the world will be blessed."
In the past week Arizona senator Mr McCain has gone on the offensive against Mr Obama, who returned from a highly-successful world tour aimed at boosting his foreign policy credentials.
But at home the Illinois senator has faced criticism from African-Americans after being accused of introducing race into his campaign against his Republican rival.
In the new video, which includes footage of Charlton Heston's Ten Commandments, the sarcastic narration "They will call him, 'The One'," is immediately followed by a Barack Obama for president seal emerging from the Red Sea.
"Barack Obama may be 'The One' but is he ready to lead?" the video concludes.
A spokesperson for the Obama campaign has already dubbed the video, which followed last week's comparison between the Democrat and Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, as "juvenile".
