Explosions on two buses in China's south-western Yunnan province have killed two people and injured 14 more, police have said.
A statement from the Yunnan public security bureau said that the blasts occurred an hour apart this morning during rush hour traffic in downtown Kunming.
The first blast is thought to have occurred at around 07:00 local time (00:00 BST) at a bus stop, killing one woman and injuring ten others.
The second occurred on the same road and killed one man and injured four more.
"According to preliminary investigations, the explosions were cases of man-made, deliberate sabotage," a spokesman from the security bureau is quoted by the AFP news agency as saying.
Checkpoints have now been sent up as police try and find suspects.
Chinese television pictures show a massive hole in the side of one of the buses with glass covering the street.
The incident is the second time an explosion has occurred on a Chinese bus in recent months.
In May, three people were killed after a bus in Shanghai burst into flames. The incident was blamed on flammable liquids being brought onboard but no other details were given.
Today's explosions come just weeks before the start of the Beijing Olympics on August 8th and the incident is likely to heighten security at the event.
