An NHS doctor who said that she had been held abroad against her will is set to return to the UK.
Humayra Abedin, 33, a British citizen who was training to become a doctor in the UK, went to Bangladesh in August to visit a sick relative but claimed to have been kept in the country in order to be forced into marriage.
The high court in London ordered Ms Abedi's release under the recent Forced Marriage Act and a high court in Dhaka, Bangladesh's capital, has ruled that she be put in the court's custody.
She is expected to be released to the British high commission in the country who will then arrange for her to be sent back to the UK.
The story came to light after a friend of Ms Abedi went public with a text message she received from her which stated she had been locked in a house.
Speaking at the time, Ms Abedi's lawyer, Anne-Marie Hutchinson expressed shock over the case and said she was surprised that she was being kept against her will by her family.
