The trial of pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been adjourned for two weeks, Burmese officials have confirmed.
The court trying Daw Suu Kyi announced proceedings had been delayed until June 26th during a hearing earlier today, apparently to allow defence lawyers to call additional witnesses.
The 63-year-old is charged with violating the terms of her house arrest when an American man swam to her lakeside home last month and stayed for two days uninvited.
The trial has caused international condemnation of Burma's ruling junta, with Daw Suu Kyi's supporters claiming the legal proceedings are simply an excuse to keep her detained until after next year's elections.
If convicted she could face up to five years in prison, having already spent more than 13 of the last 19 years under house arrest.
