Muslim cleric Abu Hamza is to be extradited to the US to face terrorism charges, the Home Office has announced.
A Home Office spokeswoman said that home secretary Jacqui Smith had signed an extradition order.
Hamza, who used to preach at north London's Finsbury Park mosque, now has 14 days to appeal.
If no appeal is lodged, he will handed over to US authorities within 28 days.
A magistrates court approved the extradition in November and the home secretary has now ratified the decision.
The preacher is currently serving a seven-year prison sentence in the UK for inciting murder and race hate.
The US government wants to place Hamza on trial over claims of funding terrorism, setting up "terrorist training camps" and plotting to take 12 hostages in Yemen in 1998.
Earlier today it was announced the Muslim cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi had been refused entrance into the UK to receive medical treatment.
