Tottenham's Jonathan Woodgate claimed that his side's 2-0 win over West Ham at Upton Park was their best performance of the season and was a "must-win" game.
"It was a must-win game," Woodgate said. "It puts us on level points with West Ham now so that was vital for us. We dominated the whole game and we deserved the victory"
"It was the best we've played all season. We were resolute. We worked hard and had to win the battle first and we did that. The whole team was magnificent, especially the midfield. They worked ever so hard and won the game for us.
Woodgate warned, however, that the club are not out of the mire yet despite an impressive run of results since Harry Redknapp took charge at White Harte Lane.
"We're still in a relegation battle," the former Real Madrid man said. "There's only three points between us and 17th place.
"Hopefully we can climb up the table but we've got to out of this position we've got ourselves into first.
Tottenham captain Ledley King was also delighted having seen his 68th minute header open the scoring.
"I didn't really catch it cleanly but sometimes they're the one's that go for you.
"I'm pleased with the effort the lads put in. it was a must-win for us and we worked ever so hard and were brilliant throughout.
"The three points is the main thing. I'm happy that it was a full team performance. Even the lads who came off the bench came on and did well. We're pleased."
King also paid tribute to goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, who pulled off a late double-save to deny West Ham an equaliser.
"The lads are fully behind him. He's pulled off some great saves for us all season and tonight again he saved us."
