Wolverhampton Wanderers have guaranteed their spot in top-flight English football this season by beating QPR 1-0 today.
Mick McCarthy's side took the crucial three points which means they are six points clear of Birmingham and cannot be caught at the top of the Championship thanks to their superior goal difference.
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake bagged his 25th goal of the season, shooting from close range, to cap off a season in which Wolves have largely been dominant.
Any chance of a late wobble by McCarthy's team appeared to have been erased on Easter Monday at Pride Park against Derby County.
Despite putting in a below-par performance and losing 2-1 to Nigel Clough's team at one stage, Wolves showed championship-winning guile and determination to fight back and win 3-2.
Former Premier League side Leicester City also joined Wolves in the promotion hunt today.
The League One side earned an away victory at Southend with a brace from Matty Fryatt. The win gave Leicester - who were relegated from the Championship last season - an unassailable lead at the top of the table, guaranteeing their promotion.
However, Charlton Athletic fans will not be joining in the celebrations across the Midlands, as their relegation to League One was confirmed today with a 2-2 home draw against Blackpool.
Once a solid Premier League side under the management of Alan Curbishley, Charlton went down after letting a two-goal lead slip - Lee Hughes scored for Blackpool in stoppage time to deny the Addicks three points.
