Wise ditches Leeds for job with Keegan on Tyneside

Leeds United manager Dennis Wise will leave Elland Road by the end of this week to become part of Kevin Keegan's backroom staff at Newcastle.
The two clubs have agreed a compensation fee to release the 41-year-old from his contract and he will complete the switch after readying Leeds for their League One match against Southend United on Tuesday.
"Newcastle had approached us for permission to speak with Dennis on Friday and since then things have happened very quickly," a Leeds club statement read.
"We will always be grateful to Dennis for the way he has turned things around at the club on the playing side and he goes with our best wishes for the future."
Keegan is keen to add Wise to his St James' Park set-up after working with him during his time as England manager and it is expected that he will be take up a job as director of football.
The former Chelsea and Leicester City midfielder has impressed in helping his Yorkshire side overcome a 15-point deduction to challenge for automatic promotion back to the Championship.
Wise has previously been in charge at Millwall as a player-manager before getting his first full-time role at Swindon Town.
After five months with the Robins and a lengthy tug-of-war between the two clubs, Wise moved to Leeds in October 2006.
His departure will mean following his former number two Gus Poyet into the top flight.
The Uruguayan was recruited to assist Tottenham Hotspur boss Juande Ramos in October last year.
