Wigan have announced the signing of former Birmingham keeper Richard Kingson.
The Ghana international is a free-agent having been released by Birmingham at the end of last season and as such is not bound by the transfer window.
30-year-old Kingson played for Ghana at the 2006 World Cup but struggled to make an impact at Birmingham having been signed by Wigan boss Steve Bruce during his time at St Andrews.
He will now once again link up with Bruce and provide competition for places at the JJB.
"There are two top keepers here, but I'll fight for a place," said Kingson.
"It's terrific to be back in England. Steve Bruce is a great manager and I'm looking forward to my career at Wigan."
Bruce was also thrilled with his new signing.
"He's a really decent keeper," he told the official Wigan website.
"You don't play nearly 60 times for one of the top 20 nations in the world without having something about you.
"I think he'll add to the competition here."
