The Formula One Teams' Association (Fota) has appointed McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh as its new chairman for 2010.
In 2009, Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo announced he would be stepping down from the role of Fota chairman after one year in the job.
Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali will take up the vice chairman position, while Red Bull's Christian Horner will begin work as the chairman of the sporting regulations working group and Ross Brawn will continue in his role as chairman of the technical regulations working group.
A statement issued by Fota said: "All members placed on record their thanks to Luca di Montezemolo for his valuable leadership and remarkable contribution in the successful establishment of Fota, as well as all the other key figures who contributed greatly to a successful first year.
"Fota teams now look forward to working with Martin Whitmarsh to continue the development of activities in the long-term interest of F1, in collaboration with all other stakeholders."
A meeting between Fota and the sport's governing body the FIA is scheduled for the end of January, where regulation changes for the 2011 season will be discussed including the use of Kers.
