Leicester Tigers have issued a seven-day ban for England prop Julian White meaning he could be free to face London Wasps in the Guinness Premiership final a week on Saturday.
The front row admitted to stamping during his side's victory against Gloucester in the Premiership decider last weekend, and the club issued a ban and fine against White before an independent panel.
"Julian White immediately accepted his guilt of the offence. He has been remorseful and is very sorry that he has let down his team-mates," the club stated.
"He has been banned by the club for seven days and has consequently been withdrawn from playing this weekend," the statement read.
White, however, could face further punishment by the Rugby Football Union (RFU) next Tuesday, but the decision of the club to offer its own punishment could lend the body to issue a more lenient sentence for the Tigers prop.
Leicester fought back to clinch a 26-25 away victory against Gloucester and reach their fourth successive Guinness Premiership final in the process.
A £5,000 fine has also been issued against White by the club as he is facing his second disciplinary hearing this season.
White was handed a five-week ban in January after being found guilty by the RFU of punching a Leinster player during a Heineken Cup fixture that the Tigers won.
