West Brom avoided a potential banana skin with a 2-0 win over Peterborough on a night of few surprises in the FA Cup.
First-half goals from on-loan striker Jay Simpson and Paul Robinson earned Tony Mobray's side victory at London Road in the third round replay and they will now play Burney in the next round after they beat Championship rivals QPR 2-1 after extra-time at Turf Moor.
In other third round replays Charlton recorded their first victory in 18 games with a 1-0 win away at Norwich thanks to a Darren Ambrose strike.
A Zak Whitbread goal four minutes from full-time gave Millwall a 3-2 win over Crewe at Gresty Road, and they will now take on Hull or Newcastle in the fourth round.
In third round games taking place for the first time non-league Histon's FA Cup run came to an end as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Championship side Swansea, who will now travel to Fratton Park to take on Portsmouth in the fourth round.
Sheffield United won 4-1 at Leyton Orient and have a home tie with Charlton in the next round, while Cheltenham and Doncaster must meet again for the right to take on Aston Villa in the fourth round after they drew 0-0.
