West Brom came away with a deserved point against West Ham at Upton Park after a 0-0 draw this evening.
The Baggies had the first decent chance when Jonathan Greening set up Marc-Antoine Fortune who saw his shot crash into the side-netting.
West Ham then saw their growing injury list get worse as they had key defender Matthew Upson stretchered off, but his calf injury wasn't as bad as first feared as he was later seen walking through the tunnel .
James Morrison took advantage of some static West Ham defending as he glided into the penalty area before seeing his shot saved by Robert Green.
West Ham were non-existent as an attacking threat and only the young Freddie Sears looked lively for the home side. The striker saw a well-hit shot blocked by the West Brom defence and then saw another effort deflected on to the roof of the net.
The Baggies are in the midst of a relegation fight but they were much the better side against Europe chasing West Ham. They almost took the lead when Shelton Martis connected with a Chris Brunt cross but saw his header come back off the bar.
David Di Michele and Savio started up-front for the Hammers in place of the injured Carlton Cole and though the pair worked hard, they lacked composure in front of goal, firing wildly wide on occasions when they could have shots at the West Brom goal.
West Brom almost snatched the points when Morrison and Greening combined again and the latter found himself through on goal, but his strong touch took the ball way from him and he could only dink the ball over the keeper and the far-post.
