Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger expressed his anger at opposition bully boy tactics following the serious injury sustained to young midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
Wenger watched as his team ground out an impressive 3-1 win at Stoke to put themselves firmly back in the title race but the result was tempered by the apparent leg break for the Ramsey following a rough challenge by Ryan Shawcross.
The Stoke defender was instantly dismissed and left in tears but Wenger felt that the injury was as a result of teams going in hard on his players.
Wenger stated: "I'm very proud of my team and very sad after what happened to Ramsey. We know it's a bad injury we will have to wait and see if he will need emergency surgery he will certainly be out long term."
Asked about the tackle by Shawcross Wenger said: "I'm not happy about the tackle. We have now lost three players, Diaby, Eduardo and Ramsey due to horrendous tackles and I refuse to believe it's a coincidence. I don't believe in coincidences when it's happened as many times as it has to us.
"Everyone is always physical with Arsenal and the questions I get in press conferences that we don't like the physical side of the game that's what the reality is."
When asked if he believed teams were over physical with Arsenal Wenger replied: "I believe nothing, only what I see. It's not acceptable when a player can be injured in this way. It's very hard to enjoy this victory today."
