Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger hailed his side's performance after they responded to back-to-back defeats with a 1-0 victory over Liverpool.
After losses to both title rivals Manchester United and Chelsea in the space of a week it looked as though Arsenal's title chances were over.
But the win over Liverpool leaves them just six points behind leaders Chelsea after their defeat at Everton.
Abou Diaby scored the vital goal in the second half, and Wenger praised his players for responding after a difficult week.
"It is a massive night for the club. To be back within six points is great for us," he said.
"It is a massive result for us because we had a massive disappointment in the last two games.
"We have shown great mental strength and solidarity against a very well-organised team.
"It was very difficult. Liverpool played very well. It was very tight.
"But we refused to give up and we came back with a convincing victory."
Liverpool went close to equalising late on with Ryan Babel hitting the bar, but the Gunners manager believes his side deserved their win and highlighted their defensive performance.
"Liverpool are a very good side going forward. [Steven] Gerrard is always on the ball and they are dangerous," he continued.
"But we defended well and were resilient and determined. At the end we got a great goal. We could have maybe had one or two more."
