Wigan ended their season with an impressive 38-16 win over second-placed Hull for their eighth consecutive win at the JJB stadium.

The Warriors move up to seventh after a brace from Chris Ashton and five goals from Mark Dobson to finish their worst campaign for 25 years.

Dobson also scored a try along with Iafeta Paleaaesina, Harrison Hansen, and Nathan McAvoy.

Brett Dallas returned to action to play in his final match for the hosts after eight years at the Warriors.

Matty Dale and in-form Motu Tony were among the try scorers for the Black and White's who were guaranteed second spot before the match.

Elsewhere, Leeds fired a warning shot to their rivals ahead of the play-offs after a 60-12 drubbing over rock-bottom Catalan at the Headingley Carnegie stadium.

The Rhinos, who were guaranteed third place before the game, rammed in six tries with a hat-trick from fullback Jordan Tansey and two tries from Danny Williams.

Danny McGuire marked his return to the side with a try with Gareth Ellis, and Scott Donald also crossing the line.

Star man Kevin Sinfield kicked seven goals and Rob Burrow struck three as the Rhino's added to their 36-8 led at the break.

Thomas Bosc and Justin Murphy scored tries for the Dragons but it was not enough to prevent their 20th defeat of the season.
