Former Australia star Shane Warne claimed it is a "disgrace" that the first Ashes Test will take place in Cardiff.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) surprisingly decided to hand Cardiff the opening Test, especially as the Swalec Stadium has never staged a Test match before.
Warne, who played in the opening Ashes Test match at Lords on four occasions, was adamant that the first Test should always take place at Lords.
"How Cardiff get the first Test match in the Ashes is just a disgrace," Warne told Sky Sports. "I don't know how they get that, I really couldn't believe that. The Lord's Test match should always be number one.
"The buzz around Lords in (2005) was amazing. The lead-up to the Ashes series was phenomenal," added the Australia legend.
The Swalec Stadium has been criticised for its drainage system which even the Glamorgan chairman Paul Russell admitted was "pathetic" and "hopeless", before £3 million was spent to fix the problem. Russell however was less than pleased with what Warne had to say.
"Mr Warne has never visited the Swalec Stadium, he doesn't know the facilities that we have down here and what a splendid stadium it is," said Russell.
