Former England captain Phil Vickery has agreed verbally to a new contract which would keep him at London Wasps until 2011.
The 32-year-old prop forward revealed that he is happy to stay at the reigning Guinness Premiership champions after reaching an agreement with the club over a new deal.
"I have been made a very fair offer which I am perfectly satisfied with," Vickery said.
He added: "Nothing has been signed but we have reached a verbal agreement and I'd be more than happy to stay."
Vickery, who stared in England's 2003 World Cup winning side and captained the team under former head coach Brian Ashton four years later, signed for Wasps in April 2006 after an 11-year stint at Gloucester.
He, along with England and club teammates Tom Rees, Danny Cipriani and James Haskell, are among players whose contracts are reaching their conclusion.
Vickery admitted that he would be pleased if the others choose to remain at Wasps.
"I don't know about other players' business but I sincerely hope the others who are out of contract sign as well," he said.
"You have to be happy with what you're offered and I hope they get it sorted out. I have nothing but good to say about Wasps."
Wasps currently lie in ninth place in the Premiership on 16 points.
Bath currently lead the league on 34 points, a point ahead of London Irish.
