The US rap star Snoop Dogg has finally won the right to enter the UK, following a fracas at Heathrow airport in 2006 which banned him from returning.
Snoop Dogg, 38 - real name Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr - has been denied entrance by the UK Border Agency for four years because he was deemed a potential "risk to the public".
Although his application to enter the UK could still be denied, he is at least now able to apply to enter Britain. Snoop Dogg was first denied entry in April 2006, following a fracas at Heathrow Airport involving members of his entourage in which seven police officers were hurt. A year later he was denied the right to enter the UK to tour with P Diddy.
The UK Home Office has said it was considering an appeal, saying the Heathrow brawl and Snoop's drugs and firearms convictions in the US meant he was a threat.
The Doggystyle singer recently featured on the new Gorrilaz album.
