Manchester United look set to land their first major transfer coup of the summer after announcing agreements to brings Sporting Lisbon's Nani and Porto's Anderson to Old Trafford.
The pair have attracted interest from a host of Europe's top clubs, but it appears that both will be lining up for the Red Devils' defence of their Premiership title next season.
The double capture was secured after a flying visit to Portugal by United chief executive David Gill and assistant manager Carlos Queiroz.
Nani, who has already made five appearances for Portugal at the age of 20, has been likened to Sir Alex Ferguson's other signing from the club, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Brazilian 19-year-old Anderson has starred mainly on the left flank for his club in a title-winning season and had been tracked by Chelsea and Barcelona.
Manchester United released statements confirming the provisional agreements with both the players and their respective clubs, although the fees involved remained undisclosed.
"A formal announcement will take place once the necessary administrative procedures, including a medical, have been completed," it added.
