Wayne Rooney could return to the Manchester United team by Wednesday, Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed.
The England forward has been out of action since straining his hamstring scoring what turned out to be the only goal of the game against Wigan on January 14th.
In his absence United have gone on to record seven straight league wins, putting themselves two points ahead of Liverpool at the top of the table with a game in hand.
Sir Alex said Rooney, 23, had a chance of making the bench for that game in hand, at home to Fulham on Wednesday.
"Wayne should be ready for Saturday's game against Blackburn, we're quite confident of that, and he may have a slight chance of being fit for a place on the bench on Wednesday," the United boss said.
