The head of the union Unite Tony Woodley has revealed the ballot for more strike action by British Airways cabin crew could be postponed.
The ballot for industrial action, in the ongoing dispute over staff numbers as well as pay and working conditions, had been due to take place on Tuesday but Mr Woodley told Sky News on Sunday union members would now be able to consider the latest offer by the airline.
"I've got no doubt it would be suicidal, indeed inexplicable, if we didn't put this offer to our members at this stage," he said.
"I've got no doubt they will take that decision and that will give them time to reflect."
BA cabin crew have staged a series of strikes throughout 2010 over planned changes to working conditions and then again later after the airline refused to return travel concessions for those members of staff who went on strike.
