Warrington Wolves outscored the Catalan Dragons 22-18 to move back into contention for a playoff berth in Super League.
Having suffered defeat against Hull last week the Wolves needed a victory to get their season back on track but were made to work hard by a diligent Dragons side.
Chris Riley crossed the whitewash for the home side after 14 minutes to break the deadlock. Riley touched down in the corner following Jon Clarke's long pass.
But the Catalans bounced back ten minutes later through Clint Greenshields; Stacey Jones then added the conversion to give the Dragons a slender lead.
Kevin Penny and Brent Grose grabbed a try each before half-time to give the Wolves a 12-6 lead at the break. Their advantage would have been greater but Lee Briers and Ben Westwood failed to convert any of their three tries.
Briers was sin-binned for his reaction to Grose's try being referred to the video referee for confirmation of a possible obstruction, while Dragons prop David Ferriol was put on report for an alleged use of the elbow.
The Dragons took advantage of the Wolves being a man down soon after the break as Jones ghosted through the defence to score.
However, Grose put Warrington back in front two minutes later, scoring his second try of the game.
Greenshields was then sin-binned for a professional foul and in his absence Briers was able to release Rob Parker for Warrington's fifth try. Briers then added the conversion having missing all his other attempts of the evening.
The Catalans grabbed a late try through Justin Murphy but it was merely a consolation.
