Two people have been killed after an army training helicopter crashed in Devon today, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed.
The next of kin of the service personnel are currently being informed and further details will be released when this has been completed.
"Our thoughts are with their families and friends at this difficult time," an MoD statement said.
The BBC reported the helicopter came down near Kingscott, Torrington, at 15:45 BST this afternoon.
Police said no buildings were damaged.
Reports claim a rescue team from RAF Chivenor attended the scene, as did rescue crews from Devon and Somerset fire and rescue services.
Thousands of homes in the area lost electricity supplies at the time of the crash, but it is unknown whether the two incidents are linked.
Western Power Distribution announced that it has switched to an alternate electricity supply.
