Salford City Reds have confirmed the departure of England scrum-half Richard Myler at the end of the season, with the 19-year-old heading to Challenge Cup winners Warrington Wolves.
Myler will join up with current England coach Tony Smith at the Halliwell Jones Stadium after the Wolves "offered a significant amount of money for his services", according to Salford director of football Steve Simms.
"We have always maintained that we wanted to keep Richie and build our future team around him and other homegrown players," he explained.
"This was reflected in the substantial offer we made for Myler's future services. However, Warrington were able to offer the player a startling contract and transfer fee for somebody who has only played a handful of games at this level.
"From the club's point of view it made both good football and business sense to let Richie go as it is pointless to keep a player against his wishes, and we can now invest the finance back into the squad to strengthen in all areas."
The teenage star, who was courted by a number of top Super League clubs this season before opting for the Wolves, has enjoyed a remarkable rise to fame within the sport.
Having signed from National League side Widnes Vikings last year, Myler capped his impressive first season as a professional by scoring a try on his England debut against Wales in late 2008.
He has also enjoyed a stellar campaign in 2009 for the Reds, as well scoring a hat-trick of tries for the national side against France earlier this year.
"Richard is a good young player who has a great future ahead of him," Simms continued.
"We wish him all the very best for his future career and I'm sure everybody connected to Salford will thank him for a remarkable two seasons in our colours."
Warrington have scheduled a press conference for 14:30 BST at the Halliwell Jones Stadium to unveil Myler, alongside two other new signings for the 2010 season.
