Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic came through a difficult match against Italian Andreas Seppi to reach the third round of the Masters Series event in Indian Wells.
Blustery winds made it difficult for Djokovic to play his high-octane style of tennis, but he managed to win 6-3 7-6 (7-3).
Djokovic broke serve once in the first set to take it 6-3, but the second set was a much tighter affair and it looked like the match would go into a third and final set.
The Serbian world number three twice served for the match in the second set, but was broken both times. However, he eased through the tie-break 7-3 to go through to the next round.
Djokovic admitted afterwards the conditions made it difficult for him to play his natural game.
"I won, that's all that matters," said the 20-year-old. "Everybody could realise that the wind was the most difficult thing today. It was a big factor."
Britons Andy and Jamie Murray will both take part in the tournaments. World number 11 Andy, who had a first round bye in the singles, will partner up with Eric Butorac in the doubles, while older brother Jamie will be partnered by Max Mirnyi.
