Andy Murray has claimed consistency in his game will be the key if he is to progress at this year's Wimbledon.
The British number one has never got past the fourth round at a Grand Slam tournament but will be hoping to change that next week.
"I showed by my results against a lot of the top guys that I can definitely win against them," the 21-year-old said.
"But it's different to do it for seven matches in a row. It's about being consistent through the fortnight."
Murray missed the grass court tournament last year due to injury and this summer British fans will once more be praying for home-grown success.
The world number 11 is due to begin his campaign against Fabrice Santoro on Tuesday and he is hoping his greater experience this time round will hold him in good stead.
"Playing in a slam is completely different to the other tournaments because of the days off, managing your time on those days off and knowing exactly the best thing to do," he said.
"I think the older you get and the more experience you get of playing in slams, you learn what you like to do and what works best. All of those things kind of add up," he added.
"In terms of being on court, you don't want to be playing your best tennis at the start of the tournament but you want to make sure you're playing at a high level so you don't get taken into too many tough matches early on."
Murray progressed to the quarter-finals of the Queen's grass court tournament recently before retiring against Andy Roddick due to a thumb injury.
He has recovered since, however, and is set to be at full fitness for Wimbledon.
