Former Celtic favourite Tony Mowbray has been appointed manager of the Scottish Premier League (SPL) side.
Mowbray succeeds Gordon Strachan as manager after Celtic agreed to pay somewhere in the region of £2 million to 45-year-old's former club West Brom.
The appointment of Mowbray brings to an end a long search by Celtic to find a new manager. The likes of Owen Coyle, Roberto Martinez and Tony Adams were all linked with the Hoops hotseat, but the club said they are delighted to have Mowbray as their new manager.
"Celtic Football Club is delighted today to confirm that Tony Mowbray has been appointed the new Celtic manager," the club said in an official statement on their website.
"Tony will be joined at Celtic by Mark Venus, Peter Grant and Neil Lennon in the new Celtic management team.
"This is fantastic news for the club and we look forward to officially unveiling Tony as the new Celtic manager at a news conference at Celtic Park tomorrow at 10am."
Mowbray started his managerial career as caretaker manager at Ipswich Town, before moving to the SPL to manage Hibernian.
But it was in his three seasons with West Brom that Mowbray gained recognition as a potentially top class manager. His West Brom side played a stylish and expansive style of football as they won the Championship title in 2008 and reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
Relegation from the Premier League this season came as a blow, but Mowbray, who played for Celtic for vie years, will now look to bring success back to his old club after they lost the SPL title to Rangers last month.
