Nottingham Forest have edged out Doncaster to take the second automatic promotion place in League One.
Forest came through a tough match against Yeovil to win 3-2, and, luckily for them, Cheltenham beat Doncaster 2-1 which meant Forest finished two points above Doncaster and reached the Championship alongside champions Swansea.
Bournemouth suffered last day heartache as their failure to win away at Carlisle saw them relegated to League Two. The Cherries, who had remarkably won their last six games, came back from a goal down but despite last pressure, they could not find a winner.
Gillingham will join Bournemouth after they let slip a lead at Leeds United to lose 2-1. The Gills took the lead through Simeon Jackson, but Leeds equalised through Brad Johnson and won the game on the 88th minute through a goal from Tresor Kandol.
Meanwhile, newly crowned League Two champions Milton Keynes Dons were held 1-1 at Morecambe, but still finished five points ahead of Peterborough, who also gained automatic promotion alongside Hereford.
Stockport, Rochdale, Darlington, and Wycombe will battle it out in the play-offs to decide the final team that gains promotion to League One.
Mansfield and Wrexham had already been relegated from League Two before the final game of the season.
