A neo-Nazi loner on the cusp of a far-right bombing campaign against British-Asian families has been jailed indefinitely.
Neil Lewington was given an indeterminate sentence for public protection at the Old Bailey today having already been found guilty over seven separate terror offences.
The 44-year-old unemployed electrician, who lived with his parents in Tilehurst, Reading, was arrested by chance at Lowestoft railway station in Suffolk last October for abusing a female conductor while drunk, but when searched police found bomb-making material.
Further materials and far-right paraphernalia were found at his home, where police discovered he hoped to emulate his heroes Oklahoma bomber Timothy McVeigh and Soho nail bomber David Copeland.
"This man, who had strong if not fanatical right-wing leanings and opinions, was on the cusp of embarking on a campaign of terrorism against those he considered non-British," Brian Altman QC, prosecuting, said.
Lewington was convicted earlier this year of having explosives with intent to endanger life and preparing for terrorism.
He was also found guilty of two counts of having articles for terrorism, two counts of having documents for terrorism purposes and one charge of having explosives.
At the Old Bailey today he was told he would spent at least the next six years behind bars.
