Greater Manchester Police have launched a murder inquiry after a 17-year-old boy was found stabbed last night in Salford.
Officers were called to the scene in New Lane, Winton, following reports of a disturbance shortly after 23:00 BST.
The police attending the scene found a 17-year-old boy who had serious stab wounds to the abdomen.
He was taken to Hope Hospital but died a short time later, police said.
No-one else was injured in the incident, the police added.
The investigation is at an early stage and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
