The Metropolitan police have issued details of a number of vehicles they are keen to trace following the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man in Tottenham yesterday.
Turkish-born Oktay Erbasli, from north London, was shot just after 4pm on Friday when he slowed his Range Rover at traffic lights for the junction of Roundway and Great Cambridge Road, N17.
Mr Erbasli, who was traveling with a female companion and a five-year-old boy - both unharmed, was shot in the car and although he was able to exit the vehicle and stagger a short distance along the road, he was later pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.
Police say the victim was driving a silver grey Range Rover, registration number LV07 AAX, in traffic when a motorcycle - a black Honda Blackbird (vehicle reg believed to be HG07YGL or similar) - pulled alongside his vehicle on the nearside and the gunman opened fire.
The gunman, the sole occupant of the bike, is described as wearing black or dark clothing and a black helmet.
A second motorcyclist spotted at the scene was riding a blue, grey and white bike, possibly a Suzuki. He is described as wearing a blue top.
Police are keen to trace this individual in a bid to eliminate them from the enquiry. Both bikes sped off in a westerly direction along the Roundway towards Lordship Lane.
In addition, the Met are keen to speak to the occupants of two vehicles that were in the vicinity of the Range Rover at the time of the shooting. Both vehicles were traveling ahead of the Range Rover and sped off at high speed along the A10 towards the A406 after the shooting.
One was a silver Vauxhall Astra and the other a blue Toyota. The Toyota may have accident damage to the rear as the Range Rover is believed to have hit this vehicle during the incident.
Detective chief inspector Andy Redwood from the homicide and serious crime command, who is leading the investigation, said: "This was a busy rush hour junction and we are appealing to the public who may have been in the area at the time.
"If they have any knowledge of these vehicles and can assist with information on those involved in this shooting they should contact the incident room immediately.
"All calls will be treated in total confidence."
A post-mortem on Mr Erbasli will be held at Haringey mortuary at 13:00 BST tomorrow, Sunday October 4th.
