Police have confirmed a 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a mother and her baby daughter on Saturday.
Stephanie Bellinger, 24, and her eight-month-old daughter Lili were killed in their home near Southampton, in Hampshire.
An investigation launched following the discovery of their bodies saw Ms Bellinger's boyfriend Anthony Marsh, 21, named as a suspect in the inquiries.
Some reports claim the man arrested this afternoon is Mr Marsh, but police said they would not confirm who has been arrested until charges are brought. They added that they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
A post-mortem revealed Ms Bellinger died from multiple stab wounds, while tests are due to be carried out tomorrow to determine her daughter's cause of death.
Ms Bellinger's family paid tribute to her saying: "Stephanie was a fun-loving free spirit who was always happy and smiling.
"Stephanie was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt and mother.
"Lili was a bouncing, happy little baby who was a delight to be with, a little chatterbox who brought joy to our lives.
"We now have a huge hole in our lives which we have to try and come to terms with."
