The natural father of Baby P has spoken out about the death of his child tonight.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, gave a statement through his lawyer.
"The verdicts will help to bring closure for what has been a very traumatic time for me, his family and all those who knew or were close to him," he said.
"I loved him deeply.
"Those who systematically tortured P and killed him kept it a secret not just form me but from all the people who visited the house.
"Even after he died they lied to cover up their abuse. I'd like to thank the police for their efforts in obtaining the evidence to bring a conclusion to this case.
"I would also like to thank the social workers who have been involved since P's death. They have acted with professionalism and courtesy.
"Finally I wish to thank my family and friends who have given me comfort and support during this traumatic time.
The man asked to be allowed to get on with his life and rebuild his future following the verdicts.
Baby P, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, died in Haringey, north London, in August last year.
He was killed after abuse from his mother, her boyfriend and another man, Jason Owen and had 50 injuries when he died.
His mother has pleaded guilty to causing or allowing his death, while the two men were convicted of the same charge on Tuesday.
