Ashley Cole has signed a new four-year contract at Chelsea that will keep him at the club until at least 2013.
The England left-back follows club and international captain John Terry in signing a new, long-term deal with the Blues.
Cole originally joined from London rivals Arsenal in the summer of 2006 in a swap deal involving fellow defender William Gallas on transfer deadline day.
However, the move came under controversial circumstances when it emerged he had earlier spoken to the west Londoners without permission.
The 28-year-old has since become one of Chelsea's prized assets - helping the club to two FA Cup wins (his fourth and fifth winners' medals in the competition following his three titles with the Gunners).
To date, Cole has made more than 120 appearances for the club in all competitions.
