Two men remanded over Halloween hat murder

Two men accused of killing a man in an argument over a Halloween hat have appeared in court today.
Ben Gardner, 30, suffered fatal injuries after confronting a thief who stole his girlfriend's fancy dress hat during Saturday evening in Sutton, south London.
Daniel Ransom, 20, and Ross Collender, 20, both from Carshalton appeared at Sutton magistrates court charged with his murder.
The pair were remanded into custody until February 10th, when they will appear at the Old Bailey.
A third 20-year-old man, arrested on Tuesday, has been bailed until December, while two other men - aged 21 and 25 - have been bailed pending further inquiries.
Mr Gardner was returning from a night out with his girlfriend Allanna Devine, 28, when he got in an argument and came under attack.
He later died in hospital.
