Bolton Wanderers have climbed out of the relegation zone with a 2-0 win over Manchester City at the Reebok Stadium.
Ricardo Gardner scored 13 minutes from time, the first time the Trotters have scored in four games, before Richard Dunne scored an own goal.
The win moves Gary Megson's side off the bottom of the table and into 17th place, while City slip to tenth spot.
Both sides went close with long-range efforts in an uninspiring first half with Robinho firing his shot from 25 yards inches over, while Fabrice Muamba rifled a 30-yard strike over the crossbar.
The home side had Jussi Jaaskelainen to thank for two vital saves to keep the scores level at the break. First, the Finn saved from Stephen Ireland after the midfielder was sent through on goal and then parried Ched Evans' strike minutes later.
Jaaskelainen continued to thwart Mark Hughes' men in the second half with a fine save to keep out Robinho's curling right-foot effort.
Bolton then enjoyed a good spell of possession which should have resulted in a goal with Kevin Nolan being sent clean through but Joe Hart stood tall to keep out his shot.
The Trotters felt they should have been awarded a penalty when Matt Taylor was brought down by Dunne but referee Mike Riley waved play-on.
And their possession was rewarded with a goal on 77 minutes when Gretar Steinsson's pinpoint cross from the right was slotted in by Gardner for his first league goal in six years.
Gardner was involved in Bolton's second goal on 89 minutes when his cross was turned into his own net by Dunne to seal the Trotters' third win of the season.
