Tottenham eased into the FA Cup quarter-finals with a comfortable victory over Bolton in their fifth round replay at White Hart Lane.

Harry Redknapp handed Roman Pavlyuchenko a starting role after his two goals as a substitute at the weekend, and the Russian striker made the most of his chance when he put Spurs into a first-half lead.

Bolton then self-destructed, conceding own goals either side of half-time. Jaaskelainen diverted Wilson Palacios' cross into his own net on the half hour before Andy O'Brien put Gareth Bale's cross past his own goalkeeper.

Pavlyuchenko then rounded off a fine individual performance in the closing stages when he picked up substitute Danny Rose's cross in the box and struck his second goal of the night.

Two of their goals may have come in fortuitous fashion for the home side but it was no more than their performance warranted, with victory handing them a quarter-final against London rivals Fulham.

Spurs started well with Wilson Palacios taking on an early long-range effort before Jussi Jaaskelainen made a smart save to intercept Gareth Bale's cross from the left.

Sebastien Bassong then stepped out of defence to send a well struck drive from 20-yards inches over the bar.

Matt Taylor had Bolton's first chance on the quarter hour mark but couldn't beat Heurelho Gomes at his near post after cutting in from the left and releasing a low shot.

Ivan Klasnic then took advantage of a misplaced pass from Bale and struck a swerving shot from 30-yards that went narrowly wide.

Spurs took the lead after 20 minutes though when Pavlyuchenko bundled his way past Knight on the edge of the box before placing the ball past Jaaskelainen.

Jermain Defoe then forced a fine save from the Bolton goalkeeper on the half hour with a shot from the edge of the box.

However, Jaaskelainen then handed Spurs their second-goal when he deflected Palacios' low cross into his own net under pressure from Defoe, after Bolton hand failed to clear David Bentley's corner.

With Tottenham in control Redknapp introduced Eidur Gudjohnsen for Defoe at half-time and the former Chelsea and Bolton striker had an immediate impact as he sent Bale clear down the left who sent a dangerous cross into the box which Andy O'Brien diverted into his own net.

Bolton looked to get back into the game after conceding a third but they were thwarted on a number of occasions by Gomes who saved well from Riga Mustapha and Stuart Holden.

And Spurs hammered home their advantage in the final minutes when Pavlyuchenko scored his second of the night, placing Rose's cross into the corner of the net to secure a comfortable victory and his sides passage onto the next round.
